背景简介
自身免疫抗体是机体在非正常状态下，由机体自身免疫系统分泌的针对机体自身蛋白的抗体。比如：系统性红斑性狼疮疾病产生的抗体。自身抗体产生的原因有很多，具体机理还有待研究。多数学者认为：一些自身抗体的产生是由于遗传因素和环境因素共同作用的结果，比如：一些病毒性疾病或长期在处于有毒化学毒素下，都可以导致自身免疫疾病。自身免疫疾病源与机体对自身体内或组织产生免疫应答?；痪浠八?，免疫系统将机体自身的物质误认为病原。这主要局限于一些特定组织：（比如：甲状腺）。自身免疫疾病的治疗主要依赖于免疫调节药物用于降低免疫应答。
自身免疫疾病对机体的伤害程度取决于自身抗体作用的的器官或组织和器官特异性的自身抗体导致的紊乱程度。那些只对单一器官作用自身抗体导致的自身免疫疾病很容易发现，因为这类疾病常常伴有系统的病症。比如：甲状腺机能亢进和桥本氏甲状腺炎。由自身免疫抗体导致的系统性功能紊乱，往往很不易被察觉。自身抗体可通过ELISA 方法检测。患者可能有针对不同抗原的自身抗体。用于自身免疫疾病研究的动物模型有很多。已经发现的：18个自身免疫基因簇中有9个基因簇与相应的动物模型在序列上高度保守。动物模型被广泛应用于人自身免疫疾病的研究，包括：多发性硬化症、糖尿病、风湿性关节炎、系统性红斑狼疮。通过人为诱导、自然的以及遗传操作的各种动物模型被用于研究自身免疫疾病和相应的药物研究。
